Queensland’s Mental Health Awareness week is an annual event that aims to shine a spotlight on individual and community mental health and wellbeing. This year EDQ was invited to be part of Brisbane’s Mental Health Expo at the Powerhouse in New Farm https://www.qldmentalhealthweek.org.au/ . The Expo is an event to promote mental health programs, services, and organisations where we can share information and resources within the community. We arrived on the day and set up our stall and saw a great turnout of people with many activities and choir, dance, and art performances to enjoy. We mingled with our neighbours, chatting to other services and visitors approaching about our services and promoting our new Eating Disorder Support Passport. We got such positive feedback about the passports and are excited to move past the drafting phase and produce a finalised copy for our clients to use. The Expo was a fun, engaging day and EDQ was pleased to contribute to the emotional wellbeing opportunities and increase mental health recovery among the community, families, and individuals. Can’t wait to return to this event next year!
